چکیده

A traffic impact sketch planning (TISP) model is presented for the estimation of likely travel demand generated by a major land-use development or redevelopment project. The proposed approach overcomes problems with non-behavioral transportation-related studies used in practice assessing design impacts on local transportation system. architectural development, terms number and type dwellings, bedrooms per unit, categories non-residential floorspace, are reflected TISP through an integrated population employment synthesis approach. enables feasible deployment agent-based microsimulation (ABM) system daily activity quick, efficient, detailed assessment neighborhood development. not restricted to certain dataset control variables geographic location Datasets different dimensions study area, some common variables, merged cascaded into synthesized, disaggregate resident persons, households jobs. prototype implementation Waterfront Toronto’s Bayside Development Phase 2, using operational TASHA-based GTAModel V4.1 ABM While conventional focus immediate surroundings investigates assesses many related district, city, region, both residents non-residents analysis includes overall spatiotemporal trips distribution auto non-auto mobility systems simulated agents diurnal peaking times. results compared estimates prior project Institute Transportation Engineers (ITE) Trip Generation Manual (TGM) rates weekday relevant land uses. Agent-based sketch recognition

A technique for the classification and ‘understanding’ of ‘child-like’ sketches is explained. Using a live pen-based input device, sketches of animals are classified using our system: SIVA (Sketch Understanding Via Agents). We separate the task into three sub-problems: Sketch segmentation, segment matching and a contextual conflict-resolution system. A successful sketch segmentation method invo...

Towards an Agent-Based Model of Passenger Transportation

In this paper, we present a multi-agent based simulation model for supporting the decision making in urban transport planning. The model can be used to investigate how different transport infrastructure investments and policy instruments will affect the travel choices of passengers. We have identified four main categories of factors influencing the choice of travel: cost, time, convenience, and...

Agent-based transportation planning compared with scheduling heuristics

Here we consider the problem of dynamically assigning vehicles to transportation orders that have di¤erent time windows and should be handled in real time. We introduce a new agent-based system for the planning and scheduling of these transportation networks. Intelligent vehicle agents schedule their own routes. They interact with job agents, who strive for minimum transportation costs, using a...

Applying revenue management to agent-based transportation planning

We consider a multi-company, less-than-truckload, dynamic VRP based on the concept of multi-agent systems. We focus on the intelligence of one vehicle agent and especially on its bidding strategy. We address the problem how to price loads that are offered in real-time such that available capacity is used in the most profitable way taking into account possible future revenues. We develop methods...

Towards Agent-Based Evolutionary Planning in Transportation Systems

In this paper problems of planning in transportation systems based on Pickup and Delivery Problem with Time Windows (PDPTW) are discussed. The results of two variants of evolutionary algorithms illustrate the pros and cons of using different approaches, and their cooperation in hybrid island model indicates how they can help each other in achieving better solutions. This leads to the general id...
